LANGSTROTH POLYSTYRENE HIVE BY HONEY PAW
There are two options for floors: Ventilated or Mesh
The floor keeps the hive dry and warm during the wintertime and ventilates so that the hive is cool and dry during the summer season.
The Ventilation board can be replaced with Honey Paw’s innovative bottom pollen collector.
Additionally, when in place, the ventilation board provides airflow from the edges and is designed in a way that no brace comb is formed under the frames.
Hive floor comes with mesh under the ventilation board.
Internal dimensions in mm: L 464 x W 370 x H 130
External dimensions in mm: L 600 x W 454 x H 130
Honey Paw hive bottom with mesh is supplied with plastic mesh. The bottom is the same size as the Honey Paw’s brood boxes and the entrance is made so that the there is no need for entrance blocks or mouse guard. Bottom with mesh should be placed a little above of the ground (i.e. on a stand or wooden pallet) so that there is an “open space” directly under the hive bottom. As an option, you can close the bottom opening with an insert (sold separately). The hive entrance should be blocked only when moving the hive or when splitting the beehive.
The floor can be used with an integrated varroa board or eps board.
The extra eps board is for closing the hive during oxalic acid treatment or to give little bit extra insulation during winter/spring.
Both extra boards sold separately.
